The Reeperbahn Festival offers Europe’s biggest club festival each year every September. For four days several hundred program points around the Reeperbahn in Hamburg and is one of the most important venues in the music industry worldwide. Initially designed as a pure music festival, the event took place for the first time in 2006. Since 2009, the programmatic expansion has offered concerts, as well as a comprehensive art program and a business platform for companies and organizations from the international music and neighboring digital industries. In the year 2017 the 800th Reeperbahn Festival will feature 800 program points of different divisions for more than 37,000 specialists and festival visitors (after days) from all over the world, in more than 70 venues in St. Pauli from 20 to 23 September
In addition to some 500 concerts by international artists held in a wide variety of venues, the festival programme includes events in the fields of fine art, film, and literature.The Reeperbahn Festival conference programme is designed for professionals active in the music and creative digital industries and features sessions, showcases, networking events, or awards ceremonies.
The festival’s partner country in 2017 is Canada. The Canadian Independent Music Association (CIMA) and their Music Export Canada partners will spotlight the Canadian music scene with showcases and business events. With the kind support of The Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings (FACTOR), the Government of Canada, and the Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC).
